Cody’s Topic: In the Valley of Gods Shelved Indefinitely

Following the reveal of their title In the Valley of Gods, former Firewatch developer Campo Santo was acquired by Valve. Since then former Campo Santo employees have moved to other Valve projects as a part of Valve’s “work on the project you want” policy. As a result, In the Valley of Gods has been indefinitely shelved. The guys explore whether or not this policy is healthy for coherent and consistent development and reflect on whether or not the decision to sell to Valve was the right one for Campo Santo.

In an interview with Games Radar, Head of Xbox Studios Matt Booty discussed the future of exclusives on Xbox Scarlett and talked about how he wants to see an Xbox Games Studio title released every 3-6 months. The guys discuss whether or not it was volume or quality that created the issue for the Xbox One, and what they hope to see come out of the newly acquired Xbox Studios.
